The wind turbine captures the energy in the wind and converts it into electricity. Todays modern wind turbines used on land (onshore) are producing up to 20 million kWh per year. 

Those modern wind turbines have a total height up to 250 meters and rotor diameters over 150 meters.
in year 2024, the accumulated amout of electricty from all wind turbines in Sweden, reached 40 terrawatt hours, to be compared with the total electricty production from all power producing sourses in Sweden ,reached approximatly 170 terrawatt hours. 

Our reserves of fossil fuels are limited, a fact well known for at least 50 years. The oil and gas reserves, still unexplored, will be significantly more costly to harvest, making energy much more expensive in a near future. If we want to preserve our way of living, we will need to increase our production of sustainable energy like wind power.
